The Florida Keys are made up of 100 tiny islands linked together by 128 miles of highway. They start just south of Miami and continue southwards towards Cuba.
Key West is the most southerly inhabited island whereas Key Largo, further up the archipelago towards the mainland, is probably the best known island and very popular with tourists.
Key Largo sits between the waterways of the Everglades National Park to the west and North America's only coral barrier reef to the east. It offers deep sea fishing, boating, diving, snorkeling, wind surfing and jet skis as well as fine restaurants and shopping - whatever you like doing, Key Largo caters for everyone.

The best times to visit the Florida Keys are spring and early Autumn where the temperatures are more tolerable than the peak summer months which is actually the rainy season and when the humidity levels are at their highest. The Atlantic hurricane season formally starts on the 1 June and ends on the 30 November. Tropical storms generally hit the Keys during this period with hurricanes being less frequent.
