Zante Town, also known as Zakynthos Town, is the bustling capital of Zante. Full of charm and history after being rebuilt after a fire. It is a port town, which sits on the east coast of the island giving easy access to the rest of the island. The town is the more commercial, compared with the other resorts. There are 16,000 inhabitants living here all year round, out of the 40,000 population of the island. Zante Town is also home to some of the best restaurants on the island, as well as some beautiful historical churches.

Even as the islands metropolis town, Zante has a small town feel, many of its buildings have been beautifully restored adding to its charm and character. With the spectacular back drop of the Ionian Sea you can take a stroll along the promenade which stretches on for 1.5 km. There are also the squares of Saint Marcus and the largest one, Solomos perfect for stopping for a coffee and to people watch. Only a short distance outside of town (2 km) sitting atop Bohali Hill is the 15th century, Venetian Castle. Surrounded by pine forests and offering magnificent views of the town out to sea this is a landmark not to be missed!
