Stresa holidays Things to see & do in Stresa, Lake Maggiore

Stresa sits within the Italian section of Lake Maggiore on the shores of the Borromean Gulf looking on to Isola Bella and the pretty resort of Baveno.

It is hard to believe Stresa was once a tiny fishing hamlet hugging a thin stretch of land given it's status today as a world famous and a very lively cosmopolitan resort especially during the summer where tourists come from around the world.

During the summer, the promenade is lined with gorgeous open air cafes, bars and restaurants where you can relax and pople watch. Or, you can stroll through the beautiful gardens of Villa Pallavicino and Villa Taranto - so are so many places to visit...!
