Saint Malo is on the north-eastern coast of Brittany, near the border of Normandy. It was once a fortified island, and is made up of an old town which is surrounded by vast granite walls. Behind these walls lie tall and imposing granite buildings and narrow cobbled streets, which date back from the days of pirates, which the town had a long history with. It is now a popular and lively district with a vast array of shops, bars and resturants to choose from, making it a great place to explore.
