Paphos is a wonderful place for a beach holiday as it has the longest coastline of any region in Cyprus, with 27 stunning unspoilt beaches, lapped by crystal waters. Coral Bay is the best for families with its calm turquoise waters and watersports facilities. Polis is a beautifully quiet beach to escape and relax on and Lara Bay, only accessible by 4WD is the best for wildlife. Here loggerhead and green turtles nest, and one can visit the Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station.

Apart from its beaches there are plenty of other things to do in Paphos like visiting the historic Old Town with its myriad of streets lined with medieval, Ottoman and neoclassical buildings, and it is a great place for shopping at the many boutiques and farmer's market. Golfing is another popular activity here and there is an excellent range of gold courses, many with above par facilities. The harbour is a lively spot for nightlife with its many bars, as well as numerous restaurants to sample the local cuisine.
