Nin is a small royal city on the north Dalmatian coast near Zadar. It has been a popular holiday destination for many years partly because of its royal heritage but also because of its amazing beaches plus the variety of top quality self-catering accommodation from apartments to holiday homes and villas. The medieval Old Town is not to be missed as it's packed with cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques. You can still see the remains of mosaics and statues dating back to the Roman times and the largest temple in the area which dates back to the 1st century.
Nin draws holidaymakers because of the plentiful and beautiful coves and beaches that surround the island. Most are pebble beaches but all give way to shallow waters of the Adriatric. Jadro and Radovanjica are popular and close to the main town of Vir with Jadro beach having a reputation for its watersports. Velika Slatina and Biskupljaca beaches on the east of the island are good for families and like most of the coast are well-supported with bars and cafes.
