Martina Franca self catering holidays A charming historical town in Puglia with stunning Old Quarter

Martina Franca is a beautiful town located in the Itria Valley in southern Italy and has been attracting tourists for generations. One of Puglia's white towns, Martina Franca's pretty neighbourhoods and many Baroque churches are an impressive sight not to be missed. A fantastic destination for anytime of year but especially during the summer months.

Whilst a vibrant and modern cosmopolitan town, Martina Franca retains its rich culture and history as can be seen in the Old Quarter with its magnificent stone walls and prominent Baroque gates opening up to narrow cobbled streets and piazzas. The largest square of the old town is Piazza Roma, with the beautiful backdrop of the 17th century building Palazzo Ducale. Every July/August the town hosts the opera festival della Valle d'Itria.
