La Orotava is a charming historic town and municipality located in the north of Tenerife, it is also home to Spain's highest mountain El Teide which has been attracting tourists for generations. A fantastic destination for anytime of year but especially during the summer months.

As well as the natural stunning mountainous scenery, La Orotava's old town has been declared a site of National Historic & Artistic Interest due to its amazing authentic architecture. Some of the main examples is Casa de los Balcones which was build in 1632 and the towns main church Iglesia de la Conception dating back to the 18th century a fantastic building from Baroque era.

A visit to Mount Teide National Park is a highlight of a holiday to Tenerife. It is possible to hike up to the top or take the cable car to enjoy the stunning views above the clouds.

La Orotava is a truly stunning and historic destination for a family holiday or romantic escape. With the spectacluar backdrop of the Mount Teide, beautiful vistas are everywhere, from the stunning architecture of La Orotava's old town, to the black sand beaches running into the Atlanic Ocean.

There is something for everyone with interesting and unique places to visit its difficult not to have a great time in La Orotava. Whilst on your holidays in La Oroava, you may want to visit some of the other nearby resorts such as Puerto de la Cruz.
