Barban is a picturesque medieval village located about 15 km from Pula on the Istria penninsular. Barban has a rich and diverse history having had several rulers over its rich past including the Venetians, Habsburgs and the French. This is a group of 14 small islands separated from the west coast of the Istrian peninsula by the narrow Fažana Strait. The islands have been designated a national park and it is packed with white sany beaches, woods and 200 dinosaur footprints!
