The history of Arinaga is of a prosperious fishing village and lime mines. From the promenade you can see the Arinaga lighthouse and visit the Las Salinas museum.
The evening entertainment can be as relaxed or as lively as you want it to be. In town, there is a wide selection of bars and alfresco dining at one of the many seafood restaurants. For pubs and late night dancing, head to the very lively Playa del Inglés next to Maspalomas. Nothing really gets going much before midnight with the bars typically staying open until 2am and the nightclubs at 6am. It is also a good place for shopping with Indian styled bazaars and large shopping malls.
