Panzano in Chianti is a lovely little hilltop town, located just above Greve, midway between Florence and Siena. On its slopes, a mere 20 metres from its centre, is a residential area in which lies our apartment - in fact, this is Casa Conca d’Oro’s great strength - the fact that guests can easily walk into the centre of Panzano’s shops, bars and restaurants, without having to get the car out. A comfortable apartment, its other great advantage is the naturally shaded, fenced-in garden, terraced, with views down over the atmospheric hills of Chianti - a wonderful well-kept area in which to relax, dine, with the use of the barbeque area, or just for drinks while the sun goes down. Panzano possesses the essential shops, banks and chemist, and is noted for a particular butcher shop called Cecchini - this is the famous ’butcher of Panzano’, who will greet customers with a glass of wine and maybe sing an aria or two while you select your cuts of meat. Our apartment is on one of the roads that leads into the town’s centre. Private off-road parking. Twelve steps lead down to the furnished garden and barbeque area.
